Lake Tahoe Wildfire Awareness Campaign

It’s National Wildfire Awareness Month! Each year, the University of Nevada, Reno Extension, the Tahoe Resource Conservation District and the Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team collaborate with local, state, and federal firefighting  and land management agencies to promote wildfire awareness in Lake Tahoe. This year’s message is “Get Defensive”. that the best offense is a strong defense and to be proactive when it comes to maintaining a home that has proper defensible space.

Get Defensive, Create Defensible Space. A home over and fire fighters from Lakie Tahoe stand in defensive positions using tools to create defensible
