PILE BURNING TO CONTINUE THROUGH FEBRUARY
Weather and fuel conditions permitting, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District anticipates pile burning through the month of February in the following locations:
East of Fairview, and north or Tirol (approximately 50-75 acres)
Second Creek drainage, below Dorothy Court (approximately 8 acres)
Wood Creek drainage, near Barbara/Jennifer intersection (approximately 2 acres)
East of Altdorf Terrace and Lucerne Way (approximately 11 acres)
Smoke resulting from the pile burning will affect the surrounding areas for approximately 48-72 hours. People that are smoke sensitive are advised to please stay inside and close their windows and doors as much as possible until the smoke dissipates.
We thank the community for your patience and understanding with the short-term smoke impacts, realizing that improving forest health and fire safety are the long-term benefits.
