What are Defensible Space and Home Hardening?

Defensible space is when the landscape and vegetation are managed on your property to reduce the wildfire threat. Home hardening is when changes are made to a building or structure to make it more resistant to embers and flames. We recommend a coupled approach of creating defensible space and hardening your home to withstand wildfire.
